    KWAKIUTL BAND RECEPTIONIST OPPORTUNITY

    FULL-TIME POSITION

    JOB SUMMARY

    Reporting to the Senior Administrator, the Receptionist is the first point of contact for the Kwakiutl Band and is responsible for ensuring all visitors are greeted in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner. The Receptionist will assist with front office administration, communication, scheduling, inventory, and general office support duties.

    DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

    FRONT OFFICE

    • Greet and assist all visitors in a friendly and professional manner
    • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and messages
    • Maintain a respectful and welcoming office environment
    • Ensure visitors and staff are always treated respectfully
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding office and membership matters
    • Provide administrative support to management and staff as required
    • Assist with filing, photocopying, scanning, and document preparation
    • Receive and distribute incoming mail, emails, and faxes
    • Maintain office organization and cleanliness
    • The front office can be busy and demanding; the ideal candidate must be personable, patient, organized, and able to multi-task effectively

    OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE

    • Maintaining the coffee station
    • Inventory ordering, receiving, and shipping
    • Completing mail logs and cheque distribution
    • Booking and renting facilities
    • Maintaining photocopier and fax machine
    • Maintaining emails and faxes on a regular basis and distributing them to the appropriate department
    • Assisting with office supply inventory and ordering
    • Supporting special events, meetings, and community functions as required

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Knowledge of the Kwakiutl community, culture, and language is considered an asset
    • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent is required
    • Preference may be given to applicants with a certificate in Office Administration or an appropriate combination of education, training, and experience
    • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and general office applications
    • Ability to type 30-40 words per minute is an asset
    • Strong telephone etiquette and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
    • Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities
    • Successful criminal record check required

    Term: Full-time 35 hours per week

    Compensation: Wage Range:
    $19.00 to $24.00 per hour
    depending on experience level. Eligible for benefits after three months
