ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Coastal BC is known for its diverse seaweed species, which hold great potential as an
underutilized resource. The exciting program addresses the growing interest in
seaweed production, highlighting its importance for sustainable food systems and its
role in BC’s Blue Economy. The program is tuition free and includes all textbooks,
supplies and equipment needed to participate in the program.

Dates: August 18 – November 7, 2025
Location: West Coast and North Island communities
Format: Online, self-paced with applied learning and weekly discussions on Wednesday
evenings.
