    Early Learning Child Care, Capital Needs Assessment Consultant Position

    Using a community development approach, this position is responsible for leading community engagement activities with the goal of developing plans to access capital funding for projects that support the ELCC programs. The assessment should prioritize the community’s voice and ownership.

    Reporting to the ELCC daycare program manager, the consultant will engage the community to gather an understanding of ELCC programs and services existing within the community.

    This includes but is not limited to:

    Community Vision

    Community Strengths

    Community Context, current and future needs.

    Services, resources, accessibility and use.

    ELCC current physical spaces

    Infrastructure needs

     

    Using the ELCC capital project template and guide the Consultant will complete community engagement sessions and surveys, gather information, complete financial reporting, summarize input from community and staff, keep records of engagement sessions and provide reports to community and stakeholders using appropriate channels. Interested applicants may request the template prior to application.

    The ELCC consultation and needs assessment to be completed November 14, 2025, using the provided template and guide.

    Qualifications

    • The ELCC Capital Project Consultant will need skills in presentation, communication, mediation, and facilitation.
    • work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
    • satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal record check.
    • co-ordinate presentations and events including booking venues, advertising, catering and cleanup.
    • additional skills include cultural competence, ethical and professional standards.
    • able to observe confidentiality extending beyond the contract of employment.
    • have your own transportation
    • have own computer
